Broad Street Building

The Broad Street Building contains the sanctuary, church offices, several classrooms and meeting rooms and houses a Montessori Kindergarten. The existing building was constructed in 1953 following a fire, which burned the previous structure located on the same location. The sanctuary seats 300 with a typical 11:00 A.M. service attendance of about 220. An additional 65-70 attend an 8:30 A.M. service. The sanctuary was renovated in 1998 to include a new pipe organ, congregation-facing seating for the choir, Chancel and Communion Table, and acoustic enhancements including the installation of a slate floor. All wood surfaces were refinished and the gothic windows protected with external Plexiglas covers. The entire structure underwent renovation in 2000, with a new slate roof, updated climate control, new windows, and refinishing of the extensive wood paneling outside of the sanctuary. Handicap access and seating in the sanctuary was provided at this time.

Gallant Building

The Gallant Building, dedicated in 1988, is named for James and Louise Gallant, long standing supporters of First Presbyterian Church. James Gallant passed away in 1975. Mrs. Gallant is one of the most senior members of our Congregation. The James and Louise Gallant Educational Building is a three story structure joined to the Broad Street Building on its upper two floors. It contains Classrooms, the Choir Room, a Fellowship Hall with kitchen and large and small dinning areas and a parlor. The Gallant Building houses First Presbyterian Childcare, which provides childcare services for about 50 children from newborn to pre-kindergarten. An enclosed playground is located adjacent to parking for the Gallant Building.

Eric Brown Youth Fellowship Hall

The Eric Brown Youth Fellowship Hall is the newest addition to the facilities of First Presbyterian. The building is named for Eric Brown, son of Shirley and State Representative Jeff Brown, members or our Congregation. Eric died in a tragic automobile accident. The facility was dedicated in 2002 and houses High School Youth activities. The Church initially purchased the building to use as Church Offices during the renovation of the Broad Street Building. The Youth Groups then raised the funding and provided some of the labor for the reconstruction of the building to its current configuration.
