Celebration of Discipline - Several members are forming a summer-long study group which will be reading Richard Foster's Celebration of DisciplineAn informational meeting will be held Tuesday, May 28th in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided and the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Please RSVP to Maria Kern 706-407-6246 or Mike Kern mikern1@charter.net.

Paint The Town: The Witness and Service Council is once again sponsoring a team to participate in the Paint the Town Program, and we need your help! This program helps low-income families in our community with revitalization services. We will be teaming with Loyd Presbyterian to repair and paint a home on Lee Street this year. We will be performing preparation work this week and painting the week of May 20. Please fill out an application at the church office, or contact Kip Johnson at 706-302-8859 if you can help in this worthy service project.

Dr. Conine’s Wednesday Bible Study group will be meeting each Wednesday night at 6:15 p.m. in the Session Room through the end of May.  We’ll be finishing our study of the book of John.

Loyd Presbyterian Church would like to invite those in your congregation who farm or have any type of produce, or other homegrown or homemade items, to join us for our Glass Bridge Road Farmer's Market to be held on selected Saturdays in June and July.  Planned dates are:  June 1 & 15, and July 13 & 27.  The Market is held across the street from Loyd Church at the Baker Pavilion from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call our coordinators Patti or Gary Knox at 706-594-4951 or 706-643-4146. 

Graduate Sunday:  Join us next Sunday, May 19th during the 11:00 a.m. worship service as we honor the graduating class of 2013.  Congratulations to Kyasia Benjamin, Zach Breland, Conner Chadwick, Sarah Joy Cox,Parker Davenport,Mitchell Donahue,Nate Hardy, Matthew  Mabe, Morgan Mitchell,Maddie Paschal,John Sweat,Caroline Todd,  Emily Tomlinson, and Thomas Trainer.

Weekly Events

The Men’s Bible Study meets on Wednesdays at 6:45 a.m. in the small dining room.  A complimentary breakfast is served.   Julian Duttera will provide breakfast.

Come join the energetic, ecumenical, group of ladies 55 and older that are determined to improve coordination, balance, flexibility and strength.  It’s a social hour to improve your soul, mind, and body. The group, led by Jane Foster and Janis Kish, meets on Mondays at 2:00 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Come join the fun… the class is free! 

Christian Education

Sunday School: OnMay 26th, children 3 years old through 5th grade will meet in the Garden of Eden (Gallant Building, Room 305) for breakfast to celebrate the end of the school year.  All children will meet there weekly beginning at 9:45 a.m. for summer Sunday School.  Deb Sargent will be the teacher and any middle or high school youth are invited to volunteer.

Second Graders will meet for  Pizza and a Movie on Wednesday, May 15th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Vacation Bible School:  Saddle up your horses and get on over to SonWest Roundup!  Vacation Bible School is coming, June 17 – 21, 2013.  Out in the wide-open spaces, we’ll discover a colorful old town where all the excitement of the Wild West awaits!  In SonWest, we’ll celebrate all the fun of being buckaroos-so grab a sarsaparilla and join in the jamboree!  There’ll be food, games, music, crafts-and amazing true stories that point you and your kids to Jesus!

The registration deadline is today. Presbyterian Women

Wear your favorite hat to the Presbyterian Women's May Luncheon on Monday, May 13th in the fellowship hall at 10:00.  Judy Lawrence will give the Bible study on "Parables about the Kingdom of God". Please bring your blue blessing boxes, coke tabs and box tops.
