The Congregational Nominating Committee will soon begin its work of securing new members for the Diaconate and Session for the Class of 2029.

The 2026 Congregational Nominating Committee consists of Happy Blakely, Danny Guy, Rob Polk, Maria Solomon, Karen Cooper, Jake Howard, Lennice Parker, and Carol Todd. They will begin meeting in May and need your recommendations for elders and deacons.

The Book of Order states that elders “should be persons of faith, dedication, and good judgment. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian Gospel both within the church and in the world.” It also states that the “office of deacon as set forth in the Bible is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Christ. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies, and sound judgment should be chosen for this office.”

Each officer is elected for a three-year term. Both groups meet regularly throughout the year and are involved in other areas of service to the church.

Please submit names of people you believe would serve our congregation for the next three years beginning in January 2027. The Congregational Nominating Committee will prayerfully consider all names submitted. Sooner is better, but the cutoff for nominations is April 26.
